QANTAS: Indian Market — Melbourne to Delhi flights go seasonal from June 2025

Qantas has informed travel agents that it will suspend its flights between Melbourne and Delhi between June and October 2025, making the service seasonal.
The final QF69 flight between Melbourne and Delhi is on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Qantas operational reasons
With supply chain restrictions on new aircraft and maintenance, it looks like Qantas is redeploying the Airbus A330 serving the Delhi route to other — presumably more profitable routes.

Alternative travel arrangements for Indian market
Qantas is working to re-accommodate impacted passengers. If you are booked in Business Class, you will be sent to Hong Kong and onward to Delhi (or another Indian destination) with Cathay. For Economy passengers, you will head with Qantas via Singapore to an IndiGo codeshare flight to Delhi.
You can also request a credit or refund.
Commitment to India Market
Qantas claims continued dedication to the Indian market, citing its Bengaluru route and codeshare flights via Singapore. Qantas has indicated it will resume Melbourne-Delhi flights in October 2025.

2PAXfly Takeout
There has been a lot of movement in the Indian market recently. That ranges from Tata Group and SIA’s new ownership of Air India to the streamlining of the airline’s routes.
Air India, now a Virgin Australia partner, is the only option for non-stop flights between Melbourne and Delhi. But in an added indication of some weakness in the Australia/India market, Air India is suspending its Melbourne-Mumbai flights from March 28 to mid-September 2025.
Qantas, with its limited fleet, is perhaps being more cautious by servicing its well-established routes, which are working at full capacity, rather than risking preserving new routes until they turn a profit.
