TURKISH AIRLINES: Starts Sydney to Istanbul route, 28 November 2024

Turkish Airlines is new to servicing Australia, with its initial three-times-a-week flights from Istanbul via Singapore to Melbourne commencing in March 2024.

The date of flights commencing into their second destination in Australia, Sydney has been confirmed as Thursday, 28 November. The flight travels between Istanbul Airport and Sydney via a fuel stop in Kuala Lumpur.

The first flight will arrive on Friday, 29 November, using a Boeing 777-300ER. Later, it will be swapped for an Airbus A350-900.

Eventually, when Turkish Airlines receives its Airbus A350-1000s and/or Boeing 777Xs, this route will become non-stop from Istanbul to Sydney, with no refuel stop in KL.

Turkish Airlines Sydney to Istanbul schedule

The flights will run as follows:

• TK174 departs Istanbul 3.15 pm (Mon, Wed, Thur & Sat) arrives Kuala Lumpur 6.20 +1 day;
  Departs Kuala Lupur 7.40 am arrives Sydney 6.30 pm
• TK175 departs Sydney 8.40 pm (Sun, Tue, Thur and Fri) arrives Kuala Lumpur 1.55 am +1 day;
  Departs Kuala Lumpur 3.55 am arrives Istanbul 10.15am (11 hours)

Tickets are bookable now. Economy fares are around AU$1,489, and business fares are around AU$6,476—more for the inaugurals.
