QATAR AIRWAYS: Adelaide and Auckland flights move to daily in 2023
From 22 January 2023, Qatar Airways will move its current 5 flights per week servicing Adelaide in South Australia and Auckland, New Zealand from 5 days per week to 7 days, serviced by the airlines Boeing 777s with Qsuites – the airline’s business class. Essentially these are flights to and from Auckland, with a drop-off/pick-up in Adelaide.
Daily Schedule
- QR914 leaves Doha 8.30 pm, arrives Adelaide 5.50pm (+1 day) 6.35 pm from Adelaide arrives Auckland 1.15am (+1 day)
- QR915 leaves Auckland 6.25 pm arrives Adelaide 8.50pm. Leaves Adelaide 10.20 pm and after 13½ hours arrives Doha, 4.30am (+1 day)
Air New Zealand is its only competitor on the Adelaide/Auckland sector, but only if you want to fly economy in an A321neo.

This is another timely reminder to wear your seatbelt when seated. Holding you close to your seat will protect you from the sort of injuries sustained on this flight, when unsecured passengers flew to the ceiling of the aircraft, and then came crashing down once the ‘drop’ ceased.
The hope will be that this is an anomaly – a ‘freak accident’ in casual parlance. If it is a systemic error either mechanical or electronic, then this is a larger concern for the airlines that fly Boeing Dreamliner 787 aircraft. Let’s hope it isn’t. If it is, it will pile on the woes to Boeing’s existing stack.
If you are in Adelaide and needed to travel to Auckland ( or visa versa), what a comfortable way to travel in QSuites for 4 hours.
I’d definitely travel this route in preference to the Air NZ all-economy ride.
