Jetstar: Baggage handlers strike Wednesday 19 February 2020

Baggage handlers and ground crew have scheduled a 24-hour strike for Wednesday next week.

The Transport Workers Union (TWU) protected strike will affect Adelaide, Avalon, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne and Sydney.

I’m not going to go into the rights and wrongs of the strike, but suffice it to say that TWU national secretary Michael Kaine regards it as ‘a fight for … a decent standard of living’ and Jetstar chief executive, Gareth Evans just calls it ‘unforgivable’.

If you are booked on a Jetstar flight on Wednesday 19 of February, then you can cancel your trip and get a full refund, or move your booking to an earlier date without any additional cost.

Personally, I would take the refund and book with another airline, but that’s just me.
