In the next year, we aim to keep you abreast of hotel, flight, points, loyalty and other travel offers that may interest you. We haven’t really covered these before except when there is a flight deal we think you should know about. Expect to see that change.

Etihad – bonus on points purchases

You can buy up to 100,000 miles, and get a 30% bonus on the purchase.

This is not the most generous deal, but not the worst either.

You get:

• 10% bonus on points amounts up to 20,000
• 20% bonus on points amounts up to 40,000
• 30% bonus on points amounts up to 60,000

You should note that the following conditions apply:

• Miles cost $0.02 USD per mile
• Additional GST may apply
• Maximum of 100,000 miles purchased within a calendar year
• Maximum of 60,000 miles per transaction
• Purchased miles not refundable but can be applied towards all Etihad Guest awards.
• Miles purchased will post within 24 hours.
• Purchased miles do not count towards status upgrades

This is not an overwhelming great deal on its own, butif you can combine it with the discounts on points redemption outlined below, you may be on a winner.

Book before 31 December 2018 for travel between 21 January until 21 May 2019. So unless you are lucky – combining the offers may be a little tricky.
