Successful Qantas sacks 400 workers
As a sign of Qantas continuing success as an airline, it sacks 400 workers. Actually they sacked more from Melbourne and Avalon engineering bases, and then will hire some in Brisbane.
They say its because their newer fleet need less maintenance, and that the refurbishment of their Jumbo’s is now complete. That might all be true, but it doesn’t sound like the act of an expanding successful airline.
Do you think pulling out of a bunch of overseas routes, including the agreement with Emirates might have something to do with it?
