Travelling Emirates? Points but not status unless you book through Qantas

Confused about what points you earn from whom once Emirates and Qantas partner?
This should clear it up:

• Book on the Qantas – with QF flight number on an Emirates codeshare = FF Points and Status Credits
• Book with Emirates – with the EK flight number = FF Points (no Status Credits)

With or without a codeshare, you get Qantas FF points on Emirates, but not Status Credits. You have to book with a QF flight number to get both.

The question becomes – I suppose – should you earn your points with Qantas or with Emirates Skywards program?
