Introduction
You sit down at your desk to try and write an up to date summary of health and travel initiatives in Australia for COVID-19, and just when you finish, everything changes!
Travel bans on visitors to Australia
The Prime Minister of Australia (Scott Morrison) From midnight tonight (Sunday, 15 March 2020) all visitors to Australia will need to go into self-isolation.
Cruise ships will also be banned from pulling into Australia ports for the next 30 days.
These moves will effectively shut down inbound international tourism to Australia.
Qantas crew member diagnosed with Coronavirus
Qantas has just reported that an international crew member is in self-isolation after testing positive to Coronavirus.
The crew member flew from the United Kingdom to Australia as a passenger. The employee was not symptomatic when operating as a crew member on any Qantas flights.
Health authorities will trace and contact those seating close to the passenger on the flight. This is standard procedure for all confirmed Coronavirus notifications.

Will there be retaliatory bans from other countries? Is this a consequence of New Zealand’s similar isolatory move announced yesterday?
