Qantas: Singapore First Lounge – OPEN
A week or so ago, 2PAXfly reported that the Qantas Singapore First Lounge in Singapore was to open on 2 December – or at least that was when its launch event was to be held.
Well, apparently its open NOW.
ET is reporting this along with ‘exclusive’ watermarked images that show the design matches the Qantas authorised renderings.
Did they visit the Lounge?
Interestingly enough, all the images are people-less, and there is no actual report on the experience of being in the lounge. The images look professional, and it is as if, ET got a curated walkthrough before it opened to the public.
It looks pretty good, although a little bland, and there are some images of aspects of the lounge we haven’t previously seen, like the bathrooms.
The design’s neutral tones, are towards the bland end of interior design and seem to lack the lux details of Marc Newson’s lounge designs. It’s like they lack a signature. Oh, and no sign of the Marc Newson lounge chairs, with their rounded corners and diamond-patterned backs.
Anyway, with lounges, the design is only half the equation. Service is the other half.
2PAXfly Takeout
The only thing better than the smell of a new lounge is the ‘new car’ smell of a new aircraft.
Wish I was travelling to Singapore next week, with my Platinum status getting me into the Qantas Singapore First Lounge, even though I would probably be travelling in Economy.
I can’t find any reviews of the lounge on the interwebs yet, so, if you’ve been, scroll down below and give us your thoughts in the comments.
