Trend: splurge on the pointy end of a plane, but squib on hotels
An American Express Study looking at business travel shows travellers prepared to splurge on sitting at the pointy end, but prepared to scrimp on where they sleep.
The speculation is that the economy flying experience is so bad in the USA (which I can only agree with) that business travellers are prepared to spend extra on a comfortable flight experience. On the other hand, they are prepared to compromise on the cost of hotels – given that you mainly just sleep there.
